Deepen the relationship with fans of the Weird But True children’s print book series and generate a new revenue stream through a mobile app.


Mission Data designed and developed an interactive app with social sharing, in-app content purchasing, sponsorship/promotion, and content updating. We also learned 300 wacky facts. Did you know gorillas burp when they’re happy?


The Weird But True mobile app has received over 3 million downloads and completed 3 major releases. The app was winner of the Spring 2012 Parents’ Choice Funstuff Award, named a top app to keep kids happy by The New York Times, and chosen as App of the Week, New & Noteworthy, What’s Hot, and Staff Favorite by Apple.
