Implement
This stage results in the "live" deployment of the system. The stage's activities are associated with ensuring all is in order from a functional and technical perspective so that the system will operate as planned once released.
The primary activity with respect to functionality is a rigorous testing of the solution once the data has been converted at the end of the previous stage. On the non-public development system, Mission Data performs initial testing and defect correction based on an established test plan. Once completed core members of the client and Mission Data team will be asked to do extensive testing of the application(s) and provide a comprehensive list of any defects found. Mission Data will then make the required adjustments, retest and then once again ask for extensive team testing. There may be several iterations until the testing is completed.
When the solution's functionality has been finalized and approved, Mission Data will then move the system into production. This entails the technical activities of moving the application(s) and data onto a designated production environment that supports the necessary web server, application server, and database server capabilities. Finally the Domain Name Server for the project's URL are pointed to the production environment syncing the request for the site from the users' browsers to the files to be accessed.
When appropriate Mission Data provides initial training to key users and administrators of the solution.
As a note, it is during this stage that the Web and social analytics elements are incorporated into the system so that its effectiveness can be measured and tracked.
Key deliverables and results include:
